Award-winning Thorbjørn Harr has agreed to play Peer Gynt for the first time. At the same time, Peer Perez Øian, who is himself named after Peer Gynt, takes over the direction. He too is making his debut with Ibsen's classic.

Harr is known from both film, TV and stage, and in recent years has had roles in both Norwegian and international productions. In 2024, he starred in the Netflix hit La Palma, a series seen by over 70 million viewers worldwide. Despite his extensive career, Thorbjørn Harr has never before played or been in Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt. Now he is looking forward to working with Ibsen's text in Peer Gynt's kingdom.

- I was very happy to be asked to play Peer Gynt himself at Gålå. Now I'm really looking forward to coming to Gålå and being allowed to play Peer Gynt in the surroundings where the play belongs. It is a great honour, and a very big challenge, says Thorbjørn Harr.

Mageli Camping is located 55 km from Gålå arena, where Peer Gynt itself is played for several thousand every year. In 2026 there is a new Peer Gynt, namely Thorbjørn Harr. Stay with us and join the cultural festival in 2026.
